Keeping the kids entertained

As you and your family wake up to the first day without school you may already be wondering what on earth you are going to do to keep the kids entertained for the foreseeable future. At Bishop Ridley, we have put together some of our favourite resources and ideas for keeping the kids entertained.

First though, you might already be fielding questions about why they are off school? What the coronavirus is? Whether granny and grandpa are going to get sick or even die? Answering these questions can be very difficult. You know your child best and what will answer their queries without worrying them further. But there are some useful resources available including this one from Verona Children’s Museum which explains the coronavirus in child friendly way.

Remember your children will be picking up on your emotions and anxieties. The church is providing practical support to families in need too, call us on 020 8303 9998 or email info@brchurch.org.uk. You can also send your prayer requests to prayer-requests@brchurch.org.uk. Building prayer time or mindfulness into your day is always a good idea but even more so now. Illustrated Ministry have produced 10 idea for praying with kids, which includes a free colour-in bookmark download. Even better Illustrated Ministry are providing free weekly resources during the covid-19 pandemic.
